Payment of Sentinel Training & Assessments
Dear Customer,
We are writing to you to inform you of correspondence we have received from Network Rail and our governing body, The National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR).
The briefing note from NSAR states:
‘It is the responsibility of the sponsor, primary or sub sponsor, to pay for any Training/Assessments that the Primary or Sub sponsor requires them to have. Under no circumstances should the learner pay for their own Training/Assessment.’
The briefing note from Network Rail states:
‘Primary sponsors must pay for Personal Track Safety training and recertification, and for any other competence required by the sponsor.’
We have therefore reluctantly made the decision to stop taking payments from learners and only from sponsors going forwards for any Sentinel training & assessment events.
We would like to inform you that we are in the process of discussing this topic with both Network Rail and NSAR. We will keep you informed should any progress be made.
